What can I say? Where else do you get a giant as good as this, and I mean GIANT! Amazing adventures and Amazing Adult fantasy did great during their short run.

“SSERPO, the creature who crushed the world!!” Does it get any better than this?? I think not! :) Did you notice that Amazing Adventures #6 is dated the same month/year as Fantastic Four #1? I wonder if the idea to create the ever-lovin' blue-eyed Thing was the result of the orange rocky looking SSERPO?

I had the reprint version of this story in Monsters On The Prowl #27 when i was very young. I didn't have my copy for long, but i never forgot that great cover, especially the colors. SSERPO is more colorful on the reprint cover. I'd guess that the coloring credit goes to Petra Goldberg who did some great coloring for Marvel during the Bronze Age, i noticed. I do like the distinctively different earthy grey and brown coloring on many of the original covers of the Silver Age, though.
