Aaron the Sorcerer
History: In the deserts of the American south-west, a young man walked out of a sandstorm and into a service station owned by Lucy Scott and her father. Introducing himself as “Aaron”, the young man asked for employment and was hired as a handyman.
He seems so grim — so frightened!
Able to perform miraculous repairs, Aaron spent his free time staring out the window into the darkness. One night, three robed wizards (who had been pursuing Aaron) appeared and wanted Aaron to return with them. Rejecting their order, Aaron engaged the wizards in a mystical battle, which was ultimately deemed useless because Aaron could counter-act all the spells of the wizards. The wizards departed, but took away Aaron's powers, leaving him happier because he could then lead a “normal” life and find love with Lucy.
Behold the circle of fire, Aaron!
Height: 5 ft. 9 in.
Demonstrated Powers: Aaron had sorcerous abilities, the limits of which are unknown. He was able to perform miraculous repairs (making an electric clock work without electricity), enact magical transformations (turned the three wizards temporarily into mice), and perform magical conjurations (conjured rain against fire, conjured a knight to battle a dragon). All of Aaron's powers were removed by the wizards, leaving him a “normal” human.
Comment: Speculation - This story took place in the deserts of the American south-west (possibly Nevada, since “Carson City” was mentioned). In Fantastic Four # 185, the FF travelled to the Colorado Rockies and met the witches on New Salem. Since both stories took place in the same geographical area, it is possible that Aaron was a runaway from New Salem.
Comments: This story is a recyling of the story “The Handyman” from Journey Into Unknown Worlds #48 (August, 1956).

Agreed! And, Aaron the Mystey-kid could be a prototype/forerunner of another Kirby brainchild: Klarion (Bum-bum-BUM) the Witch Boy!

Thanks for posting the story on your site. I've wondered about this story since I saw the cover on the web a few years ago.
