Gomdulla
History: Gomdulla came to Earth ages ago and created havoc in the Egyptian desert until, by accident, he fell in such a way as to become immobile. He was buried and years later archeologists dug him up and put him on display in a museum. One day two boys were playing around the giant mummy, when one of the boys hands brushed against a small stud hidden beneath the layers of bandages on Gomdulla's foot, which brought the giant mummy back to life. Smashing out of the museum, Gomdulla found his way back to Egypt where a cult, “The Worshippers of Gomdulla”, was established in his honor. An Interpol agent, sent to investigate, infiltrated the cult. The agent was menaced by Gomdulla, but was saved by the high-priest of the cult, who pressed the stud on Gomdulla's foot, once again rendering him motionless.
Height: 20 ft.
Demonstrated Powers: Gomdulla was strong enough to smash through stone walls. Gomdulla also had telekinesis, which he used to levitate himself, and to hurl large stones.
Comment: It was never shown what Gomdulla looked like beneath the bandages; it is unknown if Gomdulla was a living being or a machine.
Comment: It is unknown if there is any connection between Gomdulla, The Mummy, or Mummex (see Tales to Astonish # 8).
Comment: Speculation - Although Gomdulla's story chronologically was told before The Mummy story, it is possible that Gomdulla was previously The Mummy; Gomdulla's past, before he was put on display in the museum, was never shown. The Mummy apparently died, and perhaps the activating stud on Gomdulla's foot was some sort of resuscitating mechanism. Perhaps the “dead” nameless Mummy (whose mind was dulled from centuries of slumber) was “cleaned up” and put on display in the museum, and he went on to become Gomdulla after his mind cleared and he remembered his real name.
Comment: Gomdulla the Living Pharaoh should not be confused with Ahmet Abdol, the Living Pharaoh introduced in X-Men # 54 (see The Living Monolith).

Gomdulla, the Living Pharaoh… I wonder if he is any relation to The Living Pharaoh/Monolith of “The X-Men” fame? As the counterpoint to Havok's cosmic power absorption, The Living Pharaoh could also grow to the giant-sized Living Monolith when Havok (Alex Summers, Cyclops's younger brother) was not feeding off of the same source of cosmic radiation. He appeared in 'The X-Men' #54-56 (currently 'The Uncanny X-Men').

Perhaps its both. Perhaps Gomdulla is a cyborg life form, like the Titan, but either less powerful or with power developed in other ways. Perhaps more physical. Thats an Idea. Perhaps someone is producing these entities…another of the Elders, whiling away eternity by creating titanic life forms…
