Meet... the Monster!

Kraa

History: In Africa, the Soviet Union detonated an atomic bomb. A tribesman of the Wabuzi tribe was exposed to the nuclear explosion; the radiation caused him to mutate into a giant monster. Returning to his village, the transformed native was seen by his fellow tribesman who thought him to be “Kraa, the spirit-god from beyond”. Worshipped by the villagers, Kraa planned to attack the civilized world for revenge for his condition. Kraa was befriended by an American explorer who gave Kraa an ointment to ease the pain of his radiation burns. When the explorer was attacked by a giant python, Kraa battled the huge snake and fell off of a cliff, sacrificing his life to save his new-found friend.

Height: 15 ft.
Demonstrated Powers: Kraa claimed to have the strength of a hundred men, and could easily tear trees from the ground and hurl them as weapons.

Comment: Kraa and The Incredible Hulk share similar origins, both being normal men caught in nuclear explosions, the difference being that Kraa's transformation was permanent.

Comment: Kraa should not be confused with the Lumphomoid named Kraa (the brother of Zorr) who was introduced in Nova (vol. 2) # 15.

Can A Comment Save the World?!?

According to the “Monster-hunters” mini-series (from the short-lived TALES OF THE MARVEL UNVIERSE), Grottu the Gi-ant was created by Deviant genetic engineering, rather than mutation from radiocative fallout. If so, I think the engineering process created some sort of radioactive waste, which the Soviets were burying in a crude pit, when that African hunter fell into it. And, that so-called African word, “Kraa?” Probably, a misprounciation of a certain Deviant warlord's name.

It just goes to show the truth in the old saying,…” You can not judge a book by its' cover”
This monster was a friendly and helpfull person at heart.
