Mongu
History: The Soviet Union wanted to capture The Incredible Hulk so its scientists could study him and learn his secrets to create an army of warriors. The Communist government sent Boris Monguski to America, diguised in a robotic costume as the alien gladiator “Mongu”. “Mongu” issued a challenge to combat the Hulk. The Incredible Hulk accepted Mongu's challenge, then discovered his secret of being a Communist agent. The Hulk sent the defeated “Mongu” back to Russia.
Height: 7 ft.
Demonstrated Powers: “Mongu” was only a costume worn by an ordinary human who had no special powers.
Weapons:
- “Two-ton ax” - actually made out of cardboard and cork
- “Spaceship” - actually a disguised Russian MiG aircraft equipped with a “sound gun” that produced ultra-sonic soundwaves
Comment: Boris Monguski/Mongu should not be confused with the extra-dimensional warrior, also named Mongu, introduced in the Man-Thing story in Adventures Into Fear # 14; this Mongu fought the Hulk in Incredible Hulk #'s 210 and 211.
