Monstrollo
History: Movie producer Charles Hudson created “Monstrollo” to appear in his next movie, a science-fiction film. When the gigantic robot caused fear and panic in people, the government ordered Hudson to dismantle his movie creature; however, when an alien invasion force attacked Earth, Hudson used the monstrous automaton to drive them off, thus saving the planet.
Ten years later, Charles Hudson's life had changed for the worse; when word leaked of his claims of stopping the alien invasion, his career was in ruins, and a rival producer had stolen his idea for a new television series. Despondent, Hudson returned to his ramshackle studio which still contained the remains of the Monstrollo robot prop. At the studio, Hudson was contacted by aliens who were once used as slaves by the same alien invasion force that had fought Monstrollo. Emboldened at seeing their masters defeated by the giant robot, the alien slaves overthrew their masters and came to reward Hudson by firing a gun at Monstrollo. The rays from the gun brought Monstrollo to life. Hudson then employed Monstrollo as his agent for his renewed career.
Height: 50 ft.
Demonstrated Powers: Monstrollo had great strength, and (being an unliving mechanical creature) was immune to the attacking aliens' weapons.
Comment: Speculation - In Amazing Spider-man Annual # 4, Spider-man and the Human Torch battled a giant robotic “gorilla” movie prop; could this movie prop perhaps be based on the design of “Monstrollo”?
A giant mechanical “King Kong” can be seen in Nick Fury Agent of SHIELD (vol. 1) # 2; could this be based on the design of “Monstrollo”?
Comment: This story is basically a redone version of Mechano.

And again, gets a bit of depth into the story. The arguments over how REAL a thing can be and be entertainment. The argument over images. Another minor triumph.
