Moomba
History: Moomba was discovered in the jungles of Africa by a big game hunter named Frank, who was in search of African totem sculptures to sell to collectors. Frank was captured by the giant alien, whom he thought was only a wooden statue. Moomba revealed that he had an army of warriors, all of whom appeared as wooden statues, stationed world-wide. Moomba sent out an energy signal for his warriors to attack. Defeating various military defenses, Moomba prepared for world conquest. Moomba's menace was ended by Katu (the witch doctor of the Balubbi tribe) who used a paralyzing spell on him and ordered Moomba and his warriors to leave Earth. Before leaving, Moomba wiped the memories of all the events from the minds of mankind; Frank was the only one to remember what happened because he wrote of the events in his diary.
Height: 20 ft.
Demonstrated Powers: Moomba was strong enough to tear through the hull of a ship. He could not be harmed by bullets or explosive shells. Moomba commanded an army of warriors (numbers unknown). He (like his warriors) could levitate himself, and flew through space by fusing with all of his warriors into a single giant mass, which was propelled by their combined energy impulses. Moomba used his mental powers to wipe memories of events from mankind's collective memory.
Comment: Speculation - Moomba stated, “On the world from which I come, all life is made of wood.” Possibly Moomba has some connection to Groot
Comment: Speculation - The hunter “Frank” could possibly be the immortal monster hunter Ulysses Bloodstone (see Grottu)
Comment: Speculation - Moomba could possibly be connected to The Statue Gods or The Living Totem.

I remember Moomba! I had that comic when I was much younger, though I'm pretty sure it was one of the reprints (I got it used and the cover was ripped off so I'm not sure)
Unfortunately I no longer have it; I think my mom either put it away somewhere or got rid of it.
Good memories, though.
