Meet... the Monster!

Orrgo

History: Volunteering to conquer Earth for his people, Orrgo teleported himself across space and appeared at a circus, and gave his ultimatum claiming the planet. After easily defeating all military forces that opposed him with his superior powers, Orrgo returned to the circus where he first appeared (where his fellow beings would be watching for his signal), and hypnotized all of humanity. Weary from expending so much power, Orrgo slept. Jo-jo, the circus gorilla, was angered because his hypnotized master had not fed him; sensing the sleeping Orrgo was responsible, the gorilla struck and killed Orrgo. Humanity was released from Orrgo's hypnotic spell and the world was saved. Orrgo's fellow beings learned of these events and cancelled all invasion plans.

In modern times, an evil Keewazi Indian spirit, Khlog, used Orrgo's form to battle The Thing, The Human Torch, and Dr. Strange, and was defeated.

The real Orrgo returned and was used by the criminal group called The Headmen to take control of the Earth, but their plans were stopped by the Defenders. Orrgo returned to his home world.

Height: 7 ft.
Demonstrated Powers: Orrgo and his people had the power to alter reality to their wishes. Orrgo could levitate entire cities, reconfigure atomic structure, and animate inanimate objects. Orrgo's mental powers allowed him to mentally dominate the entire human race with hypnotism. Orrgo could instantaneously teleport himself across vast distances of space. The limits to Orrgo's powers are unknown. Despite his great powers, Orrgo was still vulnerable to physical attack when sleeping.

Comment: Orrgo displayed powers similar to those seen in the Elan race (see The Infant Terrible); possible connection?

Comment: Speculation - It is possible that Orrgo and his people naturally utilized the same energies later found in the “Cosmic Cube” (a device created by the subversive group A.I.M. which could alter reality to the thoughts of its wielder). Perhaps Orrgo and his people were, in effect, “living cosmic cubes” (similar to Kubik).

Comment: It is unknown if Orrgo has any connection to the alien Adam Able, who came from the planet “Orrgo”.

Comment: Orrgo should not be confused with the robot invader Orogo introduced in Journey Into Mystery # 57.

Orrgo was all he said he was. It was fine showing how an omnipotent character can be fun. Liked his laughing at the humans helplessness. And even the scenes of the take over of humanity…”I must obey Orrgo” was neat. Kirby did a great tranced look. And the ending was good, His only weakness was his overconfidence.
