Professor Carter’s Giant Insects
History: At the Science Institute, Professor Carter presented illustrations of his idea of using common insects enlarged to giant-size to replace machines in construction and transportation. He proposed using a growth serum on catapillars, worms, water beetles, and common house flies. The actual use of his growth serum resulted in the creation of the menace known as Krang, an ordinary ant enlarged to colossal size.
Comment: The giant insects were seen only as pictures at Professor Carter's presentation at the Science Institute and didn't “really” exist.

A typical Kirby mad scientist over the top idea. It looked like fun too! Who wouldnt want to try a ship pulled by a titanic water beetle!

Let me get this straight - those guys wouldn't go along with Carter's plan simply because they didn't think he could do it?? Geez, even if he rode into the boardroom on a huge dung beetle, would they honestly have given this project the go-ahead? I mean, let's think about this for a second. Giant insects? Yeah, professor, that could work. Just as soon as people learn not to be freaked out or disgusted by having to look at giant mutant bugs every day. Idiot.

One of the greatest stories I ever read. I still treasure it today.
