Meet... the Monster!

Rorgg

History: Rorgg, king of the spider men, with at least six of his followers, invaded a small New Mexican town. The spider men entrapped the town in their webs. Despite the townspeople's efforts, the webs could not be cut. Rorgg then boasted of how he would conquer the Earth. When the townspeople fought back, Rorgg ordered their deaths. Rorgg was defeated by fourteen year-old Tim Johnson, who sprayed Rorgg in the face with DDT, apparently killing him. The remaining spider men retreated in fear back to their home planet.

In modern times, Frank Johnson (see Zzutak ) acquired the remains of Rorgg and three other monsters. The monsters were revived to fight the Fantastic Four, and were defeated.

Height: 30 ft. (standing upright)
Demonstrated Powers: Rorgg (and the spider men) had six limbs (two arms and four legs) and moved about by crawling. Rorgg had great strength and was shown demolishing a house. Rorgg could mentally project a web that could be used to ensnare. The spider men travelled through space by projecting their webs at faster-than-light speeds.

Comment: Although they are colored dark-blue in their original appearance, Rorgg and the Spider Men were colored bright red in all reprints and future appearances.

Actually, in the FANTASTIC FOUR ANNUAL that re-introduced him to readers of the 1990's, Rorrg was kind of golden-orange. Or, at least, that's how he appeared in the copy I bought (and still own).

Aren't spiders supposed to have eight limbs?
