Meet... the Monster!

Sazzik the Sorcerer

History: Sazzik the Sorcerer lived during the 15th century. Born to Gypsy parents, Sazzik had a talent for the mystic arts. He first became ruler of the Gypsy tribe, and was on his way to becoming the most powerful man in Europe. Sazzik presided over battles, using his mystic powers to determine the outcome. After years of villainy, the sorcerer mysteriously disappeared and was heard from no more.

In present times, the vile Boris Grumm, a producer of brutal crime television programs, learned of Sazzik while reading a book on sorcery and got the idea of producing a TV show based on the life story of Sazzik. During filming, Grumm ignored the pleas of the production crew to tone down the violent and terrifying show. Later, while alone, Grumm recited a spell from the sorcery book and conjured up Sazzik. The sorcerer, irritated at having his centuries-old slumber disturbed, banished Grumm to the “Netherworld”, then disappeared to return to his slumber.

Height: 5 ft. 10 in.
Demonstrated Powers: Sazzik had mystic abilities, the limits of which are unknown. He could levitate himself and others, and magically transmute other people and objects. Sazzik could also banish people into the limbo-like “Netherworld”.

Comment: Speculation - In Fantastic Four Annual # 2, it was revealed that Dr. Doom's mother, Cynthia von Doom, was a sorceress. In a flashback in that story, young Victor von Doom resembled a young Sazzik. Since both Doom and Sazzik come from a Gypsy heritage, and since Cynthia's maiden-name has never been revealed (possibly “Cynthia Sazzik”?), it is possible that the two could be related. Doom was disfigured during an experiment to contact the “Netherworld”.

id'say its a better chance he,s related to FF villain DIABLO,even though he,s of spannish descent,i seriously doubt ''sazzik''could be his real name, still………he could make a good foe for for DR.STRANGE if they ever brought him back, still,i doubt that a book on 15th century black magic available in a public library would carry such an effective curse,my guesses?……:sazzik was really KHLOG,an ancient indian (keewazi)spirit that could take the form of any legend so long as it was given air, this was in STRANGE TALES,acetate cover, one shot, after all, grumm was pretty absorbed in the story(a dragon chases a man;wow, thats really gory,i think ill throw up;what wussies grumms men were, even if he WAS a butthole)so maybe it was khlog, not the real sazzik,my other theory,''sazzik''was the IMPOSSIBLE MAN of FF fame, teaching grumm a lesson, whatever, maybe one of grumms effects men was quentin beck(MYSTERIO) or jason roland(the demon that devoured hollywood)or bob'o'bryan(IT,THE LIVING COLLOSUS),all effects men with super hero/villain-esque talents, and just pulled a trick on him, whatever, this is one of kirbys weakest stories,i mean, sazzik was cool, but the story was terrible, the storys ''moral''was the complete opposite of the moral established in ''MONSTROLLO'',maybe stan tried to sell one of his new super hero concepts to a tv. station, and they turned him down, and that was this story's true inspiration, cant say i blame,em though, this was published the same month as spideys first appearence.EXCELSIOR!!!.
