The Four-Armed Men
History: The Four-Armed Men came to Earth from outer space and established a subterranean base in the Amazon jungle. After landing, they began infiltrating mankind's civilization, with plans to rise up and take over Earth when enough of them had arrived. Explorer William Cartwright discovered the aliens' base and was captured by them. After escaping, Cartwright made his way back home, but had contracted a disease in the jungle. He recovered, and discovered that the nurse taking care of him was a four-armed infiltrator. After trapping the nurse, Cartwright went to tell his story to the United Nations.
Height: 6 ft.
Demonstrated Powers: The Four-Armed Men demonstrated no special powers or weapons.
Distinguishing Features: The Four-Armed Men were humanoid bipeds, the only difference between them and Earthlings being their four arms, bald head, and large, pointed ears.
Comment: This story is a redone version of the story “The Madman” from Menace # 4 (June 1953), art by Bill Everett, with the same shock ending (nurse revealed to be four-armed alien).
Comment: In modern times, this story was redone in Chamber of Darkness # 2 (reprinted in Creatures on the Loose # 14) as “Forewarned is Four-Armed”, art by Marie Severin.

And who says Kirby couldnt handle the last moment turn around? I really dug that sudden revelation at the end. And when the nurses face turns mean as she says “EARTHLING!”…Kirby knew women in my book.

A similar story was reprinted in Vault of Evil, I think. It involved a miner who discovered a group of subterraneans.
