The Scorpion
History: At an atomic research laboratory, delta radiation struck an ordinary scorpion, causing it to grow to a huge size and giving it intelligence. The Scorpion cut off the phone lines to the lab, and destroyed the transportation. It then took over the lab and planned to expose more scorpions to radiation to create an army. A hypnotist stationed in the lab (who was there to hypnotize the scientists to make them less nervous about handling radioactive materials) hypnotized the Scorpion, making it feel unbearable pain. The Scorpion voluntarily let itself be exposed to radiation again, which returned it to its ordinary state.
Length: 20 ft.
Demonstrated Powers: The Scorpion possessed the proportionate strength of a scorpion magnified by his incredible size. The Scorpion was seen smashing through stone walls. The Scorpion had human level intelligence and could command a swarm of scorpians. The Scorpion communicated by mental telepathy.
Comment: The Scorpion should not be confused with the villain of the same name introduced in The Amazing Spider Man # 20, nor with the criminal Sam Scorpio - “The Scorpion” - introduced in Kid Colt Outlaw # 115, nor with The Scorpion/Sting-Ray villain introduced in The Rawhide Kid # 57.

This Scorpion should not be confused with the similarly-named Spidey-foe. Nor, should it be confused—despite its coloration—with the Scarlet Scorpion (superhero and sometime-ally of the Femforce), over at AC/Americomics.

If a being thinks him or herself to be totally powerful this story showes that weakness can be found in anyone. Hpnosis, headaches, etc. are all an interesting tie in.
How about this charactor teaming up with The Scarlet Beetle to fight Ant Man and/or Giant Man?

The Scorpion should not be confused with whoever or whatever the Scarlet Scorpion in All-Select Comics#11(fall/46) Phantom story is.

For some reason Yellow Claw created Giant Black Scorpions,Giant Black Spiders and Giant roaches in Marvel Fanfare#31(3/87)but did not use them, nor did he use the Giant Frogs in Marvel Fanfare#32(5/87).I can only assume that they were leftovers from an untold 1950s or Lost Generation tale. There was a 1957 movie called The Black Scorpion.

Dear Editor,
I remember The Yellow Claw creating giant Spiders to use on Captain America and The Falcon, as well as S.H.I.E.L.D. I remember either Cap or Falc sayng every time one was punched it burst like an over ripe tomato.
