The Swamp Aliens
History: Years ago, Lem Whipple was hunting in Blacktree Swamp, where he saw a flying saucer land in the bog. Six aliens emerged to find their ship stuck in the mire. The aliens promised Whipple their most precious treasure if he helped to free their ship. Whipple went into town and returned with ropes, pulleys, and a rented mule. After pulling the saucer free, the aliens gave Whipple a treasure chest and promised to come back with an invasion force. Realizing his mistake in endangering the Earth, Whipple vowed never to open the chest and spend the wealth of the treasue, and to live in the swamp to wait for the aliens' return. Years later, a reporter visited Whipple and listened to Whipple's story. Since the reporter made no vow, Whipple let him open the treasure chest. The chest was empty, containing nothing but air. The disgusted reporter left, as Whipple realized the aliens had left their most precious treasure: being in an enclosed spaceship, their most precious treasure was air.

The story about the “Swamp Aliens '' is another typical 5 pager that was running in T.O.A. at that time. But that does not mean it lacked in any story telling because it was entertaining
And comics back then were .10c each . How did we ever afford them ?
