What Lurks Within?
History: When a huge, skull-shaped spaceship landed in the midwestern United States, Doctor Droom was called to investigate. Droom requested a large derrick with a wrecking ball to be delivered to the landing site. Using the wrecking ball to knock on the side of the spaceship to get the aliens' attention, Droom used mental telepathy to communicate with the unseen aliens. He greeted them in friendship and welcomed them to Earth, and told the aliens that HE was the giant derrick. Thinking that Earth was inhabited by millions of giant, iron creatures of enormous strength, the aliens abandoned their invasion plans and left Earth.

I am receiving THOUGHT WAVES!
Comment: The aliens were only seen as silhouettes on the internal wall of their spaceship.
Comment: In the flashback story, changes were made through retroactive continuity. Doctor Droom became Doctor Druid , the skull-shaped craft burst from the ground, and two creatures emerged to go on a rampage. Dr. Druid used the derrick and wrecking ball to knock the creatures into high-tension power lines, which incinerated the creatures. The two monsters were later revealed to be mutates ceated by Kro, warlord of the subterranean Deviant race.

I always did like the Kirby spaceships, especially the ones that had those monster faces. Only this one looks like it belongs on Halloween. It has that pumpkin carved look.
Maybe a better time to invade the earth would have been at Halloween, but that story has been done at one time or another. Best way is to stay clear of the planet Earth if you know what`s good for you…you monsters.
Concerning the aliens aboard the spaceship-we only get to see a glimpse of the forearms and crab like pinchers -would have liked to see what the rest of the creatures looked like…

Dr Droom would later become Dr Druid-presumably his name was changed to avoid confusion with Dr Doom.

since the MONSTER HUNTERS story is now the official version, ill bet these creatures were the inspiration for THE CRAB CLAWED CREATURES seen in FF#2,after all, they do have claws, and the ''droom''stories are probably just comic-within-a-comic adaptions of DRUIDS adventures anyway,so i can infer, these guys are the inspiration for the CRAB CLAWED CREATURES.
