Meet... the Monster!

Zemu

Zemu the magician is, in reality… a warrior from the planet Saturn!!

History: Coming to Earth as an advance scout for an alien invasion, Zemu first posed as a stage magician, using his advanced technology to astound audiences with his “magic” tricks. Zemu then began a political campaign to run for governor, promising to use his “magic” powers to improve conditions throughout the state. Doctor Droom investigated Zemu, learning his secrets. Droom used his hypnotic powers to mesmerize Zemu, making him reveal his plans to authorities.

Height: 5 ft. 8 in.
Demonstrated Powers: Zemu displayed no special powers, relying on his superior technology to accomplish his “magic”

Equipment:

  • Giant rooftop magnets - used to levitate audience
  • Infra-ray detector gun - fired disintegrating delta rays
  • Communication view-screen - used to communicate with his home planet
  • Human face-mask

Comment: Zemu should not be confused with Warlord Zemu (the dictator from the 5th Dimension who battled the Human Torch in Strange Tales # 103) nor with Baron Zemo (Captain America's nemesis introduced in Avengers (vol. 1) # 6).

Comment: In the reprinted story, changes were made through retroactive continuity. The story was redrawn and relettered: “Dr. Droom” became Dr. Druid and “Zemu from Saturn” became Zamu from R'Zahn.
