Meet... the Monster!

Zetora the Martian

History: After committing a crime on his home planet, Zetora eluded Martian police and fled to Earth. He disintegrated his spaceship so no evidence of his arrival remained. Zetora exchanged bodies with Earthman John Warren to live in permanent safety in Warren's identity. Before any trouble began, Warren's dog recognized Warren in Zetora's body with its animal senses. Under gun-point by local police, Zetora (in Warren's vulnerable body) was forced to switch back into his own body. Zetora was then taken into military custody.

In his prison cell, Zetora got the idea to conquer Earth and claim it for Mars, hoping to win a pardon for his crimes back home. Zetora battled the military forces, then went on to the United Nations building to order Earth's surrender. Seeing Zetora's superiority, the U.N. delegates promptly surrendered. Zetora radioed Mars, but before he made contact, he collapsed and died. At the autopsy, doctors discovered Zetora had no resistance to the Earth-born bacteria that humans come into contact with everyday.

Height: 25 ft.
Demonstrated Powers: Zetora had great strength and was able to pick up and crush a military tank. He was impervious to bazooka fire. He had the ability to mentally exchange his personality with that of other beings, to exchange bodies.
Zetora had no immunity against common Earth germs.

Equipment: Spaceship - disintegrated
Auto-disintegrator pistol
Cosmic radio - able to send signal back to Mars

Comment: Zetora's personality-exchange ability was similar to a mental technique that Dr. Doom once learned from The Ovoids (see Fantastic Four # 10). It is unknown if there is any connection between Zetora and the Ovoids.

Comment: The method used to resolve the menace of Zetora (killing the Martian invader with common Earth germs) was first used by H. G. Wells in his book, War of the Worlds.

Comment: This Martian is of a different species than other Martians recorded in this index

Can A Comment Save the World?!?

does'nt ZETORA resemble the ''giant faceless creature from saturn'' that popped up 3 times in DCs STRANGE ADVENTURES,only with a face?,i believe he and swamp thing and enchantress are the only DC non-continuing horror/sci-fi characters that have been made canon in the DC universe, not surprising, they never had any cool monsters in HOUSE OF MYSTERY/SECRETS or TALES OF THE UNEXPECTED,i challenge any DC fans out there to dig up any non-canon dc monster as cool as marvel/atlas's.
