I really wish that the Human Torch stories were put in Masterworks format. To have them republished in black and white in the Essencials volumes is a waste. The only way to see these stories are in color or on CD Rom. Is anyone at Marvel working on a second volume of silver age classics. We all have to lobby and get together on this one. I only wish there were more like us who would demand that Marvel put this on CD. Look at the Mad 500 issues on CD Rom back in 98….that was a milestone …..why can't Marvel do the same?

I always felt that the Torch stroies were the weakest of the early Silver Marvels. I would much rather see a Masterworks edition of Ditko's fantasy stories. A great place to rant on about Marvel Master works is at: http://pub52.ezboard.com/bmarvelmasterworksfansite

Robert,
You can get almost a complete run of the Torch's ST stories in Marvel Tales starting with issue 3. They're a lot less expensive that the originals plus there are other great early stories of Spider-Man, Thor, Ant Man and the Watcher.

My boyfriend found a copy in an old barn its kinda tattered. In a wizard it says it's worth 210. in its condition how do I find out how much its worth?

One more comment about STRANGE TALES & the HUMAN TORCH. If you haven't already read it, get yourself a copy of STRANGE TALES #110. It features two classic villains, the WIZARD & PASTE POT PETE, plus the first appearance of the master of the dark arts, DOCTOR STRANGE! Even the tattered copies of this issue demand a good price on Ebay, but I'm sure that both stories can be found in the Marvel Masterworks series. This is one of the key books in the early silver-age days of Marvel, and it's really worth the money. The HUMAN TORCH stories in STRANGE TALES were good enough for me, but when DOCTOR STRANGE was introduced in this issue, this Marvel series became a comic book gold mine for me. Check out a copy of ST#110 when you get a chance!
