Worst “villain” ever!

............. John Hensley :: 13 July 2005

I have to disagree. The Acrobat may have been a disappointing villian in his era, but at least he could do a variety of acrobatics. The most shallow villian, which I actually remember, was the Rhino, who wore a stupid-looking rhino suit, and could only run staight into things, mostly, and people, sometimes. So, the Rhino is at the “top” of my “bottom” list, villian-wise. (Of course, I am fully aware that my comment is pretty “weak” as well….)

“Worst villain ever”? Look down and you'll see the cover to Journey Into Mystery #90 with…
“The Carbon Copy Man” who's just a Skrull-wannabe
or how about “The Porcupine”, “the Living Eraser” or …
“PASTE POT PETE”!

There is a charm to these goofy villains. I kinda like all of them. Now, WHO takes the credit for them? I never saw Lee or Kirby racing to take credit for The Ringmaster, the Scarlet Beetle OR Paste Pot Pete!

The Ringmaster was originally an early 1940s Cap villain, so MAYBE credit Simon or Kirby, but Stan probably came up with the names of the others (since he gave a basic plot to Larry Leiber). And anyway, was the renamed Trapster any more exciting?

We need a few dumb crooks as a change of pace from all the master villains who want to take over the world!

Worst Villian ever????!!!

He was not only the worst Marvel Villian ever, but perhaps the worst Villian ever in the history of comics. From Tales to Astonish #54, I'm talking about the one and only “EL TORO”.

Beat that!

............. TURRRRRRD THE THING THAT COULD NOT DIE!!!!! :: 08 November 2006

Okay, how about….(dramatic pause)…False-Face!!!!! Created by Lee and Kirby in Fantastic Four #10, a “master of disguise” whose whole schtick was that he wore some cheesy nose-glasses…I don't think the Chameleon (or even the Actor, for that matter) has to worry about much competition from this guy.
[ Yeah, yeah, I know that technically he isn't “real”, but you've got to admit he is pretty lame…]
