Dear Editor,
This was a cute and friendly story that taught a few lessons, do not judge a book by its cover, and a good deed does not go unrewarded.
Two good samaritans save one of God's creatures and have a second chance to live life over as a great reward.
What a nice idea.
By the way there were two seperate versions of this story, same plot but different artists and slightly different script.
Take Care,
Bob T.

Bob,
You're correct. This story was redone later on by Lee and Reinman, I believe, in a Tales of the Watcher segment in the back of the Silver Surfer.

NOTE: Bob and Nick are here referring to the cover story, “The Creature from the Black Bog”, by Steve Ditko (reprinted in Monsters on the Prowl 19). I couldn't verify where the retold story appeared.

I had to check through the world famous “Caputo Archives”, nestled high atop a lonely, Kirby/Ayers styled castle, to ferret out the story, but it wasn't in the Silver Surfer, it was redone by Denny O'Neil and Paul Reinman as “The Beast from the Bog!” in Chamber of Darkness #5, June 1970*
*(Who SAYS this isn't the Monster Blog age of cooperative comics fans!)
Nitpick Nick.
