A giant puff of smoke! not the most threatening looking monster.

I bought TOS#9 for the Iron Man proto-type story, as I have always been a big fan of Iron Man. I like the cover artwork, depicting DIABLO, the Demon from the 5th Dimension, creeping up behind a group of unsuspecting humans. The title story was very good with a nice twist at the end, a common characteristic of the pre-superhero stories. The Marvel staff managed to take a puff of smoke & turn it into a demonic menace from another dimension, and it worked for me. THE RETURN OF THE LIVING ROBOT is a classic Marvel sci-fi story, which makes this issue a must-have comic book for all die-hard Iron Man fans.

With the magic of retroactive continuity, it was later revealed that the hunter who fought Diablo was actually Bloodstone, although the character is unnamed in the story. Bloodstone was also the hunter who fought Grottu the giant ant in Strange Tales #73.

cool, but is it also true that one of the headmen members was introduced in here?if so who was it?since,i doubt marvel would do some super gory-decapitation-twist ending,in the comics code crushed time this was published………2 retcon characters,i got a cash cow on me hands!!!
............. TURRRRRRD the RICH thing that could not die!!!! :: 13 November 2006
The Headmen character in question is Chondu the Mystic — he didn't get decapitated or anything like that against the Code, he just sent a gunman into limbo.
