At http://www.marvunapp.com/Appendix/appgods.htm
we do entries on mythological gods, and I wanted to do an entry on Pan. May we copy some images from your scans of the Pan story in Tales to Astonish#6?
Also, Tales to Astonish#36 has a story called “The Search for Pan”. Anyone know anything about that?

Sure, go ahead! BTW, that's a great site you have!

I remember the Invasion of the Stone Men from when they reprinted it in STRANGE TALES ANNUAL #1. Fond memories of picking that one up in Stone Harbor, New Jersey when I was a wee tot. Great Ditko story.
Thanks for presenting the Pan story here. Never read that one before. What a ghastly comeuppance for the sneering protaganist of the story. He'll never grow a mustache again! Horrors! And doomed to wear a crewcut for eternity for mocking the mighty Pan! Stan must have cranked this one out after the three martini lunch!

Check out page 2, panel 5: is that the Trumpet Horn of Proteus, later used by the Sub-Mariner to command Giganto in Fantastic Four # 4? Is Pan perhaps the creator of the Trumpet Horn?

I wickedly enjoy the fact that Diane is sporting only one facial expression through the whole story.

Dear Editor,
This story shows having a smart mouth and a bad attitude can be a man's down fall.
